NEW FOR 2010:
- Redesigned model
- Roadside Assistance is now 4 years/80,000 km instead of 4 years/unlimited mileage
For 2010, the Volkswagen GTI is an all-new model, based on the equally all-new 2010 Golf, which replaces the 2009 Rabbit.
The GTI comes strictly as a hatchback, in two- or four-door configuration, which the company calls three- and five-door, each in a single trim line. It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection engine with six-speed manual or optional six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox automatic transmission.
Features on the two-door include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive automatic bi-xenon headlamps, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft alarm, cruise control, digital compass, front and rear floor mats, multifunction trip computer, footwell lighting, illuminated glovebox, illuminated vanity mirrors, brushed aluminum sport pedals, keyless entry, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, heated eight-way manually-adjustable cloth sport seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with pass-through and centre armrest, three-spoke leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, and auto up/down windows.
The four-door adds power driver's seat recline feature.
Available options include 18-inch alloy wheels, power sunroof, navigation system, iPod interface, and leather upholstery.
